ConnectWise Automate: push-deploy the agent to your computers
Imports clients and computers from ConnectWise Automate and pushes the agent install to each through Automate itself.
ConnectWise Automate
Built, not yet provenRMM · checked 2026-10-20
Implemented and tested against simulated responses, but not yet run against a real account of that product. Expect to be the first.
What it does
- Imports each Automate client as an office and lists its computers.
- Sends the install to the computers you choose through Automate's command runner, so no script has to be pasted anywhere.
- Follows each command to completion and shows the result for every PC.
How it connects
Your Automate server address and a login that can read clients and run commands, with a two-factor code if that login has one.
What it reads and writes
- Reads: clients and computers, and whether each computer is currently checking in.
- Writes: it runs a command on each computer you selected, to download and then run the agent installer. It changes nothing else in Automate.
- Credentials are kept in AWS Secrets Manager, not the database.
Limits you should know about
- We have not yet run this against a real Automate server. It was built from Automate's documented API and tested against a stand-in that imitates the responses, so the first customer may meet differences.
- Automate requires an integrator client ID. Ours may not be registered on your server, in which case you supply your own from the ConnectWise developer site.
- It deploys the agent only. Reading and changing tickets is a separate integration.
Setting it up
- Create or choose an Automate login that can read clients and computers and run commands on them.
- Have your server address ready, for example the one you sign in to.
- If asked, add an integrator client ID from the ConnectWise developer site.
- Open the setup wizard, enter the details and test the connection, then choose clients and computers.
- Select deploy and watch each PC report in.
