ConnectWise RMM: import the fleet, deploy the agent

What it does

• Imports each ConnectWise company as a RemediateDesk office and lists its devices.
• Lets you choose which PCs to cover and which office each belongs to.
• Generates one install script, in a Windows form and a macOS and Linux form.
• Tracks every device through claimed, installed or refused on a live progress page.

How it connects

An API client created in ConnectWise RMM with read scopes, plus a region, entered in a setup wizard.

What it reads and writes

• Reads: companies, sites and devices, and each device's online state.
• Writes: nothing to your ConnectWise RMM account. The API client holds read scopes only.
• The deployment script runs inside Asio on your devices. Each run asks RemediateDesk which office a machine belongs to, by hostname.

Limits you should know about

• ConnectWise RMM's public API cannot run a script for us, so there is no deploy-now button. You paste the generated script into Automation once and run it yourself.
• A device that is not part of the deployment is refused, with the reason written to the progress page, so a stray machine cannot enrol itself.
• Hostnames are matched as given. Two devices sharing a name need renaming before they can be told apart.
• It installs and upgrades the agent. It does not replace ConnectWise's own monitoring, patching or remote control.

Setting it up

1. In ConnectWise RMM, open Integrations and API Access, and generate a new API client. The secret is shown once.
2. Grant it read access to companies, sites, devices and agents.
3. Open the setup wizard, choose your region, paste the client ID and secret, and test the connection.
4. Choose companies and PCs, then paste the generated script into Automation and run it against those groups.
